Bankheist in Review…

I wanted to thank everyone who participated and supported the ‘Bankheist’ yesterday, together we raised over $550 for the Robert Aldern fund at Augustana College, which is great for our art community. Thanks for working to make it a success!
Paint the Night Pink approaching…
Looking for something great to support, well, come out this Friday as artists and fashion-lovers unite to support the Avera Cancer Institute at Perspective, Inc in historic downtown Sioux Falls. I’ll be bringing 3 of my premiere original pieces from YGT, each measuring 30×40 inches, so be sure to check those out as well, and reminder, 30% of my sales will go to benefit the cause!
This is actually one of the pieces headed out for this Friday for the cause, swing by, and just maybe the famed ‘IKC’ or ‘Instant Karma Creator’ will come along too.
Bankheist on the Eastbank…
I’m really looking forward to tomorrow as ‘Bankheist’ finally arrives, which as a few of you know, is another one of my projects. Thanks to Chad, David, Cathleen, Cheryl, and everyone at Eastbank Art Gallery, Rug & Relic, Aviena, 8th & Railroad, and Augustana College for working to make it a success.
Reminder, everyone can come out and work through the afternoon, starting at 1pm, and there will be live models to work from as well. A potluck dinner will begin at 5pm, and then the wet-show will follow at 6pm, so come on out and make it a day!
A few things direct from the Badlands…
Just came back from a trip to West River, anyhow, the Badlands are back on my mind, and that’s a good place for things to be.

These works measure 6 x 18 inches, Oil on a Stretched Canvas, Gallery Wrap, maybe dry enough in another 2-3 months.
Secrets from an unorganized painter…
Telling secrets of elusive things which hide deep beneath the floorboards of an unassuming home…
Quick review of things gone…
I just came back from Brookings last night from yet another reception, anyhow, if you missed out, this showing of ‘Dakota Requiem’ will run through next Friday at the Brookings Arts Council.

Now in Luverne…
Wait, Luverne, I had to come back, and this time I’ll stay awhile.
A few selections of my work can now be found at Hallstrom Glass Studios and Gallery (HGS), so swing by and check it out!
Letters of love and other distractions…
Over the weekend I sent over a few pictures and other such thoughts about life, love, and this painting thing to my friends at the Graphic Content, anyhow, this is what has occurred.
Anyhow, I’ll see you all tomorrow evening at Eastbank, from 5:30-7:30pm, and bring lots of stones.
Taking to the Eastbank with all fresh debuts….

Expect nothing less from Egan,

Art Rocks in Luverne…

From my first introduction to ‘Art Rocks’ this past weekend in Luverne, which was my first-time showing in Minnesota, so yes, it’s an historic moment.
Fresh works for the weekend…

A question of the sublime…

I’ve got nothing but sublime. See you at ‘Without Legs’ in a few days..
Mark another date…
I might just be the hardest working artist around, or at least the best excuse for one, anyhow, I’ll be headed towards the Eastbank Art Gallery this September as well as their featured guest artist.
I’m excited to be debuting all-new original works, a body of abstracted landscapes, completed over this past summer.
The showing, called ‘Without Legs’ will run from August 29th-October 1st, and is open to the public, with a reception is scheduled as follows:
Friday, September 2nd
5:30-7:30pm
Eastbank Art Gallery
Sioux Falls
Mark that date…
Looks like we have an official reception date in Brookings for my upcoming exhibition w/David Graham at the Community Cultural Center. The exhibition runs from August 30th – September 17th, and is open to the public, anyhow, check it out!
Thursday, September 15th
5:30-7pm
Brookings Community Cultural Center
Brookings, South Dakota.
Things to watch for and other fair warnings…
So, I’m up again at the 35th Annual at the Brookings Art Center, just look for the big abstracts in the side room, then smile and nod, and take note of those fancy awards. They award the worse of things, just shameless, anyhow, be sure to swing by the reception on Friday, August 26th, from 5:30-7pm.
Next up, I’ll be hiding in a tent with fellow loudmouth artist Jennifer White in Luverne, Minnesota for Art Rocks, an artist-organized and juried show and sale. Look for that trouble, and some great art offered by some other artists on Saturday, August 27th, from 9am-4pm.
After that comes the big stretch run, with two month-long showings in both Brookings at the Arts Center and in Sioux Falls at the Eastbank Art Gallery, and actually, a bunch of other gigs too.
This art thing is something like work, huh?
Small is the new Big…
I’ve been on a good creative run as of late, which is a welcomed change of pace, as you can never be too sure of yourself when things don’t work as you’d like, or rather envisioned.

These recent works measure from 4 and 6 inch square wrap-around canvas, to 5×7 inch canvas squares and flats, which those will be framed. And yes, they’re oil, and look to be dry enough in maybe 3 weeks for safe human consumption, or at least your favorite wall.
As I’ve said before, blame the painter, but never blame the idea….at least that seems to be a logical position to take.
Another night in Sioux Falls

I just switched a few works out at The Market on Phillips, then headed over to Lucky’s for the Art Collective, enjoy the view.
Looking for Egan in all the wrong places…
I’ve been places before, and often uninvited, but for a change of pace, I may actually have been welcomed this time, I think anyway…

For all of your must have ‘Egan’ needs, and who doesn’t have those, you can find a nice selection of my work at the acclaimed (and much respected) South Dakota Art Museum in the far away Brookings.
I actually quite honored and really excited about hanging on the walls that Dunn built, and if you look around the corner from Harvey, you’ll find an incredible museum store (with eager and helpful staff) to assist. I’ve already added a few original things myself from the store, but more on that later.
Respect Bob Ross…
Bob says you better be at Lucky’s this Monday, or risk being a complete loser.
Those were Bob’s words. He’s not one to be shy.
A few fresh ramblings from Egan…
Not sure where this will all go in the coming months ahead, but at least there’s something on the canvas, with little regard towards much of anything else, and that’s just about the best way to go about these creative endeavors.
Be on the watch for these fresh works in the coming weeks ahead, as I’ll be here, there, and somewhere better than where I am now.
First Look…
The underground has awoken, as ‘Yellow-Green Tone’ (YGT) has arrived to the masses, look for the work to hit the walls of Eastbank this September in Sioux Falls.
Art Collective 2
I just added this one to the Karma Radar, as I’m looking forward to the Art Collective 2 in Sioux Falls this August, which features 30 emerging artists for one night. Looks to be a good time, and a late one, be sure to check out this show!
