Paint the Night Pink approaching…
Looking for something great to support, well, come out this Friday as artists and fashion-lovers unite to support the Avera Cancer Institute at Perspective, Inc in historic downtown Sioux Falls. I’ll be bringing 3 of my premiere original pieces from YGT, each measuring 30×40 inches, so be sure to check those out as well, and reminder, 30% of my sales will go to benefit the cause!
This is actually one of the pieces headed out for this Friday for the cause, swing by, and just maybe the famed ‘IKC’ or ‘Instant Karma Creator’ will come along too.
Work at the Figge…
Well, it looks like trouble ahead for the Figge Art Museum, or more so ‘a rumble on the river’, as I’ve just delivered a fresh crate of karma for an upcoming exhibition this summer. I’m not sure they realize what they’ve got coming here from East of Egan, my apologies to Ann Marie, we can but try!
I’ll be a small part of the upcoming exhibition, 10 years: The Brand Boeshaar Scholarship Program, which will be on display throughout this summer. I was one of the first recipients in 2000, so that makes me the old guy in the room, or at least sets the expectation that I bring the goods, or at least some karma. (Maybe the IKC will show itself during the reception yet)
I’m thrilled at this incredible opportunity, and I’ll be heading back for several related opportunities this summer, be sure to check back for those dates as even I’m not sure yet!
I’ll be uploading some pics in the coming week, I’m on the road afterall, so once I get back to native soil, or at least South Dakota, I’ll share with you all some fresh karma!
I’m Heading to 3rd Place Nights…
3rd Place Nights is almost here, this Wednesday, from 7 – 9pm at The BrickHouse, here in Madison. Artists will be making great things happen, together, and all under one roof.
I’ll be bringing my IKC, otherwise known as my ‘Instant Karma Creator’, and a few other goodies, like my ‘Box of Karma’!

Karma ‘Answers to No Man’…
Here’s a few sketches from last night’s DrawnTown 10, via the use of the IKC, otherwise known as the ‘Instant Karma Creator’. I realize they’re not what one would expect from an old theatre, but I’ve been working on developing a few new ideas or rather explorations into some landscape forms. Anyhow, I used crayon, I prefer crayola, it seems more professional in nature, to create these quick pieces of karma.
Also, I tend to give these little karma gems away, quite freely, so next time I’m around with karma, just ask! I know of at least one that left last night, so if you process some karma, feel free share with us a pic of your karma in action, or at least on the fridge, send it to chris@eastofegan.com

IKC seen at DrawnTown 10…
Well, a big thanks to Kiel, Andrew, and all those who made DrawnTown 10 happen once again, this was my first, and I’ll plan on making a return in the near future.
Anyhow, the IKC, or ‘Instant Karma Creator’ made its debut last night, we’ll call it a silent opening, shh, we don’t want this to get out to quick. Essentially, from what we know from these recently unclassified pics, is that the IKC has the capabilities of creating vast quantities of karma, quickly and with little regard to bystanders. Really, it’s a dangerous tool, whose sole purpose is the mass-production of quick sketches, that have been referred to as some as ‘real art’.
Perhaps it’s best to keep the IKC in hiding, at least until the next event, something like this could prove itself to be, well, dangerous in the wrong hands. Check back later for some fresh karma pics, from last night at DrawnTown!
Teasing with GC…
Looks like the folks at Graphic Content are at it again, focusing this time on my efforts with ‘Work from the Caldera’. Yes, this body of work does indeed directly lead into ‘Remants & Remains’, take notice how these forms grew and developed over the series.
I’m looking forward as well to the next DrawnTown in Sioux Falls, as the ‘IKC’ otherwise known as the Instant Karma Creator, is ready for launch, so expect vast quantities of karma to be cranked out this coming Tuesday.
